The above activities are a guide to the progression of concepts and activities as the class proceeds.  Additional writing assignments, tests, quizzes, or other appropriate activities will be added by Mr. Dahm as the needs of the students are assessed.

Remote Broadcasts: One class requirement is that students will be the production crew at various remote broadcasts that the Chicopee Schools Cable Access Channel 5 televises.  Alderman and School Committee meetings, sports events, school functions, and community events are among the activities that the class will be required to televise.  Assigned dates will be distributed equally among class members, and at least 2 weeks notice will be given for the students to resolve conflicts and arrange transportation.  This is a critical community function this class performs, and will be weighted heavily in grading.

Grading:  All assignments, tests, and quizzes and remote broadcasts will have assigned point values.  Students will be able to calculate their own grade to date by adding points earned and dividing by points possible.  They can also check their student accounts at www.gradebookwizard.com for grade information.

Final Course grades will be calculated using the school policy for 1 semester classes:

1st Marking Period Grade: 40%         2nd Marking Period Grade: 40%        Final Exam: 20%

Weighted average= Overall course grade

Homework: Remote broadcasts will be assigned to all students. Adequate class time and equipment is given to complete assignments during the school day, however, some students may choose to work on projects after school in other locations.  An equipment signout policy will be in place for students who wish to do so.

Attendance: Regular attendance is crucial since the studio environment is unable to be replicated outside of class, and it is difficult to do work without the specialized equipment.  As a 1 semester class, 8 or more unexcused absences will result in loss of credit and need to be appealed, per Chicopee Public School policy.

Project Notes: Students should always consider Video Projects are produced with a school audience in mind, and need to be appropriate in topic, language, and other content for such an audience.  If Mr. Dahm asks for certain content to be eliminated or altered, it is the responsibility of the student to comply or risk having access to equipment terminated.

Computer Use: Computers are for class and project use only, and internet access is strictly monitored and limited to our Classpage and GradebookWizard.  Other use of the internet should be done after school at home. Computer access will be denied to those who violate school and class policy.
