DOCUMENTARY PROJECT

RESEARCHER
Duties: If the Researcher does a poor job, the whole program will lack essential information that will help the viewer understand the topic of the program.  The facts and opinions of all the players are needed, and accurate information is a must!  You will have to think in terms of both pictures and words, but most of all, the more information you collect the better!  It is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!!

    Interacting with other group members:

Producer: The Producer writes the script, but you need to help.  He or she needs to understand all of the stuff you collect, and organize it so it is understandable to the viewer.  You need to work together to see which information needs to be included and which can be left out.
Director: If you run across a good visual image or video clip, let the Director know, he or she needs to fill the show with something other than a blank screen, and you are going to be important to him or her.
Talent: Educate the Talent about all the information you collect.  If they understand it clearly, it will help you weed out the unneeded information.
