DOCUMENTARY PROJECT

DIRECTOR

Duties: The Director is in charge of the "LOOK" of the show.  He or she needs to think visually.  A picture is worth a thousand words, so they need to be on the lookout for nice pictures, video, or be able to produce a graphic to show to the viewers.  If the pictures conflict with the words that are on the script, the viewer will be confused, so be aware.

    Interacting with other group members:

Producer:  The Director must make sure the pictures and visuals work well with the script that the Producer is developing for the program.  Teamwork between these 2 people will make or break the entire project.
Researcher: The Director must work with the Researcher to find the visual elements that will make the program more interesting to the viewer.  They need to communicate and explore all of the information and weed out the dull images.
Talent: If the talent does not know what is being shown during a voice over section of the video, they will be as lost as the viewer will be if there is any confusion.
