STORYTELLING AND PLANNING
Planning is the most important aspect of doing good work. It prevents problems, puts members of the team on the same page, and most importantly, saves time in the long run! I've had numerous students sign out a camera and come back with nothing due to poor or non existent planning. This assignment will be the first step in EVERY single project we do. The more complex the project, the more planning you need, but we start simply with the first assignment, a short silent story. Follow the directions below.
You must be familiar with the terminology and use of wide shots, medium shots, and close ups as they relate to your plan.
Shot List or Story Board (25 points)
Directions: Make a Shot List or Story Board that complies with these criteria.
Title and summary sentence (5 Points)
Shot List has 10 SHOTS or more (5 points)
Shot List has 2 CLOSE UPS or more (5 points)
Shot List has a SENTENCE which describes plot (5 points)
Each shot states the TYPE of shot AND a short DESCRIPTION (5)
(example):
Shot 1- MS- teacher hands out a test
2- CU- Student looks surprised…etc.
Or if you prefer a Story Board, do a drawing of each shot with a description below it shot type and action
Look over criteria and self evaluate before turning in!!!
