BEING A CLASS OFFICER
PURPOSE:
Officers are the contact between the class and the advisors and
are encouraged to become active participants of their class.
The officers assist the advisors in choosing the location, menu, and
favors for the Junior and Senior Proms, the Senior Banquet, Picnic,
and the gift from the class to the school. The Officers assist
the advisors in selling tickets to events, collecting dues and fund
raising monies to help students raise monies towards dues.
Sophomores receive Class Rings; Juniors hold an early Spring Prom;
and Seniors have graduation and Senior Week consisting of a picnic,
Prom, banquet, awards day, and graduation.
To become a Class Officer, you must be academically eligible,
passing 4 out of 7 classes (Carnegie units). You must "run"
for office in the Spring before each academic year and be elected by
your class.
Meeting Times: Arranged by the Advisors of
the class (could be weekly, monthly, before or after school.
Dues/Fees: There are no dues to be an officer. (There are class dues to
pay for graduation expenses--they are collected during Sophomore and
Junior years.)
Season: Elections are in the Spring. The office is held for one full
academic year.
Sign Up: A sign-up sheet is generally located in the Main Office in late May
or early June of each year. Sign your name on the sheet if you
wish to run for an office. |
