MUNIS SCANNER INSTRUCTIONS

 

  1. Boot up computer work station and the scanner should be on.
  2. Create a desktop folder named:  Munis documents (right click on the desktop and name the folder)
  3. Click on the Microtek Scanner Configuration icon on the desktop (double click, left mouse button) This set up should only need to be done once.  You will see the screen below.

 

 

Click on the SCAN TAB

These are the settings you want to configure:

Original:  Text Document (pull down menu)

Purpose:  Laser Print Standard  (pull down menu)

Scan Type:  Black & White  (pull down menu)

Send to Application:  None  (pull down menu)

Scan Frame:  (there should be a dot in the Fixed Size and then choose letter)

Destination:

Save in:  (click on the yellow folder)

                  -Double click on the C:

                  -Double click documents & settings

                  -Double click User Name (highlight your name) Double click on it.

                  -Double click Desktop (highlight the Munis folder as your selection)

Then press OK

 

File name:  ___________________________

                 Name the file what you choose (this would be done before you scan the document.

 

File format:  choose Portable Document Format (*.pdf)

 

Then press OK

 

  1. TO SCAN A DOCUMENT
    1. Put document on the scanner upside down, print side down towards the glass and towards the font
    2. Press the scanning icon on the scanner (second button from the left)
    3. You now have to wait while the scanner scans the document
    4. When the scanning is complete the document should be in your MUNIS DOCUMENTS folder you created on the desktop

     

  2. IN MUNIS

Where the attachment is needed in Munis browse to your desktop folder you created called MUNIS DOCUMENTS.  Double click to open the folder and select the document you wish to attach.  Then press OK.

 

In Munis the paper clip is associated with attachments.

- Go to Requisition entry

- Bring up a requisition or add a new requisition as you normally would do.

- To attach use the paper clip.  Click on the paper clip at the top of the page

- Add

- Then you would browse to where you have saved the document you want to attach.

- If you just scanned a document it would be in you MUNIS DOCUMENTS folder on your       desktop.

-         You can rename your document to be anything you choose by right clicking on it and rename.

-         You can also save an email and send that as an attachment the same way.  If an attachment is in the email it should be sent as a separate attachment.

-         If you are saving a scanned image of one of the old PO’s it will be saved as a pdf. file if you followed the above set up instructions.

 

To attach a document to a Req., click on paper clip.

Requisition attachment screen appears.

Follow the instructions on right (hints)

or

Choose "add" (+) from the toolbar - Look in: Desktop from dropdown double click on the Munis Documents then highlight document in MUNIS folder you want to attach.

Click on Green (check)

Attach document will appear on your screen

"X" out of screen.  Now if you want to see the attachment - click on the paper clip.
